Love pays the bills...

A long time ago I was listening to Mark Driscoll sermons a lot. I was listening to one on love or marriage, or something like that, when he said something really simple and profound that I have carried with me through the years "Love pays the bills".  His point in the sermon is that love is not always a lovey romantic feeling, but an action. Love goes to work to pay the bills...love DOES things.  And let me tell you folks...this week Justin Duke has been paying the bills!

I have felt absolutely downright miserable at times this week.  I was so sick one day I was literally in tears as he came home from work.  He sent me to bed early and took SUCH wonderful care of me.  The bed was ready with all of my pillows I need to be comfortable, he was going to sleep on the couch so I could have the bed all by my self, he had a drink in the room waiting for me, I was so sick I couldn't even take my hair down-so he took out all my bobby pins, gave me a scalp massage and back massage, and then continued to bring things into that I needed throughout the evening.  Then while I was resting and Inara was in bed he cleaned  and did laundry, so if I were to go into labor we wouldn't be coming home to a wrecked house...and then was all after working all day long.  He.paid.the.bills.

I felt more loved and cared for recently than any jewelry, flowers, or gifts could ever make me feel.  He loved me perfectly and sacrificially expecting nothing in return.  His love for me that night and past couple weeks have showed me the "never stopping, never giving up, unbreaking, always and forever love" of Christ.  Thank you Jesus for such an amazing husband!
