While Justin and I were talking in the front seat, we heard the sweetest prayer coming from the backseat:
Dear God, help be patient. Be good. Amen.
It was amazing. I pray a similar prayer with Inara...a LOT. She really struggles with being patient and waiting, so we are frequently asking God to help her when it is hard to be patient. In fact, we prayed that prayer multiple times that day. And during dinner, she kept trying to interrupt Justin and I while we were talking. We told her she needed to be patient while we were talking and wait until we were done...and she did. That is why it was so amazing for her to pray for patience in the car. It was the same situation. We were talking...she wanted to interrupt, but KNEW she needed to wait. She chose to have self-control and ask God for help! I can't tell you how amazing hearing that little prayer was. It was so kind of God to give us that moment with her. To see that all our training, correcting, and disciplining is working! Doing things His way is good!

Thank you so much for this post, I am really struggling with Annie right now on these little issues that pop up 100000 times a day and I don't do this with her. I am going to try to remember to today.
