Gross

I have been so disgusted lately about the "music" that is on the radio. It is so nasty and just plain ridiculous. One line said "no offense, but you look better with the lights out". Seriously people? So I was totally the high school girl who listened to crap like that but I honestly didn't even think of it being gross. It was what it was. But now that I have a daughter of my own, I want to protect her little heart from all that crap.

Another song says "I have a passion in my pants and I'm not afraid to show it. I'm sexy and I know it". Ok, 1. Telling me about your "passion" makes me wanna throw up a little, and 2. If you have to tell me you are sexy, you are not. So, no you are not sexy. I'll tell you what sexy is...

Sexy is, Justin working hard and going to lots of meetings to provide for our family
Sexy is, him making time to see us even when he has lot of meetings
Sexy is, seeing him MAKE time for the Lord in his day
Sexy is, him setting a budget for our family to help us get out of debt
Sexy is, reminding me that my biggest debt was paid...that is sexy!

So yeah, I need to make sure I am teaching Inara what REALLY is attractive and what is foul.  Oh, can she stay 2 forever?  What will we do when she is a "tween"?!

    i am 110% with you! now that my kids are getting a bitter older (7-9), they are listening to ever single word in every single song and asking so many questions about it. my son joseph was confused why country songs talked about 'god' but not really. :) you are doing a great job! :)

    I'm glad to know I'm not alone! Its hard because I don't want to be a "helicopter" mom, but I DO want to protect her from some stuff of the world. Thanks for the encouragement :)
